You can find a little about me and a lot about my works. I hope you find inspiration and enjoyment as you explore first-century Palestine.
- A Little about me.
I was born and bred a Hoosier. I've lived in the Indianapolis area all my life even though I've traveled all over the world.
I'm married to Gerri, who is the love of my life.
I don't smoke, don't drink and ... well, you get the idea.
My interest in the Bible and Bible times goes WAY back. At one time, I thought I'd like to have been there when Jesus arrived. Not so much after doing some research.
At the heart of my writing lies a vibrant tapestry of content that reflects First-Century Palestine THE BROTHER SERIES The Forgotten Struggle By Ronald Hera LOGLINE: The life story of two first-century Palestinian brothers, Enoch and Simeon, who witness the killing of their infant brother and father, setting in motion a quest for revenge by Enoch, and a quest for peace by Simeon in a land of hatred and violence

The First Book - Bethlehem’s BrothersEnoch’s hatred of the Romans grows while fishing the Sea of Galilee, but Thomas helps Simeon leave his hatred and fear behind. The lives of Enoch and Simeon become stories of intense hatred and gentle peace.
Enoch bonds with Nathan, one of his uncle’s fishermen. Although accused of being a zealot, Nathan abhors the zealots and tries to protect Enoch from his uncle’s zealot activities. But Lemech enlists Enoch to kill Marcus, the leader of the Roman detachment in Galilee. Marcus learns of the plot and destroys Lemech, his family, and the zealots. Enoch and his mother escape with help from Nathan, and Nathan takes them to Alexandria for their safety.
Simeon becomes a potter in Thomas’s shop and takes over when Thomas suddenly dies. Simeon marries Rachel, the girl next door, who loses their child in childbirth. While recovering from the loss. Simeon contracts leprosy and is sent away by the priest but refuses to go to the leper camp. Simeon learns of a prophet who heals and goes looking for Jesus.
Enoch learns that the one who survived the murders in Bethlehem could be the Messiah and leaves Alexandria for Palestine. He joins Simeon in the search for Jesus. Enoch searches to join Jesus’ army; Simeon... for a cure.
Enoch is disappointed with Jesus since Jesus never says anything about the Romans and has no army. Simeon, however, is healed by Jesus and returns to Rachel and the pottery shop.
Then, their Messiah is killed by the same Marcus that Herod sent to Bethlehem.
At the end of Bethlehem’s Brothers, the empty tomb is discovered, and Enoch and Simeon must decide on Jesus' Messiahship. Simeon is sure and as the scene closes he takes Little Jacob by the hand and says, “Come, Jacob, let’s change the world.”
